Claude Lepelley, specialist in Late Antiquity, and especially, in St. Augustine, died Sunday, February 1. He was president of the Institut des Etudes Augustiniennes from 1987-2000 and his work on Roman Africa was published in their collection in 1979-1980, showing the vitality of north Africa at a time of the decline of the Roman Empire. His funeral will be in Paris on Friday, February 6.
